Wine: Vasse Felix Premier 2017
Grape(s): Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Margaret River
Price: $54.99
Score: 94 Points
Appearance: Bright ruby, hint of garnet
Aroma: Big blackcurrant nose, notes of red cherry, cedar and a forest feel on the end. Not like a big Californian pine forest or a funky German forest full of mushrooms and delights, but more like your local little shrubbery forest.
Palate: More raspberry on the front, still strong blackcurrant. Definitely some herbaciousness, balanced with strong acidity.
Review: Vasse Felix, one of the most premier WA and Australian wineries do not make many missteps and this follows that trend! For a cooler year that was 2017, this still provides a classic Margs touch to cabernet and is criminally slept on! Ripper premier cabernet, will have you reaching for another bottle.
